I agree. Way to close for them to CLX the contract. Almost inside the 4 month window until the expiration.. .. Look at ASA IAD flying. 6 month notice.....

awesome new rumor today... SKW Inc is heavily considering relocating its HDQ to BOI. This along with offering early retirements and buy outs, would cut the top off a pretty senior workforce saving them millions in payroll expenses. This is one reason why the current maintenance facility will only be temporary, as construction plans are still being finalized for the permanent structure.

At one time COS and SLC were concidered. I doubt there is more then a 1% chance of HDQ moving from SGU...

agree 100%...although I believe they would benefit greatly by moving it.

Thats been in the rumor mill for the last 5 years. They need PSP and FAT for their west coast mx. It makes sense to keep it as a small pilot domicile (to save on hotel expenses) and flow a/c in and out for mx.

Pilots in these bases get sucky schedules with early starts and late releases.

ORD SFO and you'll be on reserve a lot longer than on the CRJ.

It's going to take a lot of money to buy off the senior crowd who have it pretty good as it is.

I've said for years (along with many others) that SkyW would do itself a huge favor by moving out of SGU. Being able to attract real corporate talent by being located in a 'real' city instead of the local flavor would be enormous. I simply don't think we can continue to run a billion dollar company out of SGU. At least if they are serious about the future of the company.

Chances of this happening of course are slim. I did have a nice chuckle at the BOI rumor though

There is another way to cut costs as well but I would believe this rumor before that happens.
