That may make it worse though... Take for example DFW..... We have some of the worst and they have over 80 reserve pilots to work with and still manage to be negative on reserves almost daily!
I think it's just a SS thing though, I've heard lots of AA guys complain about theirs as well...

Well, you don't need a union in order to have a mentor program. You can just copy that idea as well!

From what I hear, you can thank MM for most of your current reserve policy. Has nothing to do with CS, they weren't at the negotiating table OR voting on the policies.
I'm willing to bet most of CS gets paid more than our first and 2nd year FOs and the FOs needed a bachelors degree, $100k worth of flight training and 1500 hours of experience to get their job. There's no way the FO pay should be anywhere close to a call center employees pay, yet it is.

Blame MM for how bad reserve is? Now I've heard it all. MM and Kate were two of the most vocal people I've ever met about improving reserve policy.

Who the heck spends 100K on just their flight training? I invested roughly 30K for my PPL through MEI without having to finance(savings to start and paid as I went along over the course of two years). I'm poor, along with my parents and I still made it happen.

You do know by your ignorant and unintelligent posts (this one especially) that you are making SKW look bad right? Stop talking now before you further damage the reputation of being an airline with good people. I have made fun of some pilots for not saying hi or whatever in the airports but your comments are flat out ridiculous.
Here I go again, feeding the troll. Comparing pilots with CS is so stupid. Call center reps vs. professionally trained and skilled aviators who have dedicated their lives to the profession.

This^^^^^ I have always thought it should be required for certain employee groups to shadow us on one long 4 day trip, or better yet a stretch of reserve abuse so there can be a better understanding of what we do, and what we have to deal with to keep the operation moving forward!!!

It is my firm belief that ANYONE sitting in SOC should have an FAA certificate, along with a mandated training/recurrent program and oversight. The dispatchers and mechanics (maintenance control) already do. Schedulers should too. Make them accountable to the FAA for any scheduling violations.

As soon as they get all the iPads with Angry Birds out of the cockpits, they will legislate certification for any person doing any scheduling of certificated flight crewmembers. Similar to dispatchers. Make them responsible to someone besides Anita.
