Who are you to say who can complain about what? It's a screwed up system.
I'd hardly say that an upgrade is selling your soul. You've already committed your soul by signing up with a regional.

Honestly, I don't feel like that at all. I'm sorry that you do.

I sat reserve in base for 3+ years. It was a living hell that almost forced me to leave aviation. A job I have dreamed about since being a kid and worked hard to get. The idea of commuting to reserve, to a base that line holders are only getting 2 days off, with a CS staff that has demonstrated to me multiple times how much they care about our "contract" does not even sound remotely appealing.

Plus I don't think the PIC will be the end all that everyone says. We have lost almost as many FO's as Captain's over the past couple months here. Word is many of our FO's are moving on to legacy and majors.

Until we get some actual reserve rules (I know, the reserve re-write is right around the corner) I will not upgrade unless I can hold a line. I will make more money picking up trips as an FO vs. reserve as a Captain. I worked for years to come into an industry that had the music stop when age 65 went into effect and the economy crashed. Forgive me if I am cautious to make sure I am not put into a position where I will ever be forced to answer a 435 phone number.

Proves that you live in a la-la-land and have a kool-aid drip hooked up to your arm over there at SKW.

SKW has one of the best pay scales and and QOL out there. They have kept the bar high with no concessions, a good contract if not the best in the regional industry and an all around good company to work for. Is it the same company 5, 10 or 20 years ago? Perhaps not, but what company is? Ask United, Delta, American, etc about their companies over the last 2 decades. Fact is that nothing is the same…inflation, cost of living, etc have impacted every aspect of American life. So quit your whining!

Not the worst by far but certainly entrenched in the middle as far as total compensation and QOL go.

All KB has to do, and he does, is cut your one hour credit flight by 3 minutes, and there is you 5% concession!

Our credit per leg has been slowly whittled down over time.

We are the only airline that pays by credit, all the other are by block.

Now SkyWest charges their costumers by block but only pay their crew some messed up credit system.

A thinly veiled concession, but a concession none the less........

Not to mention they did agree in the last contract if you want to call it that, to fly those shiny new 175's at CRJ-700 rates.....Yet it has a MGTW higher than a CRJ-900 and carries the same amount of passengers. Explain how that is NOT a concession you Kool-Aid drinker...

I'm not trying to throw sand in your face, but if you're going to make a bold statement like that, you better be able to back it up. This is one of those reasons why SkyWest gets the reputation. Bunch of kook-aid drinkers who think they work for SkyBest.

Aren't you a young guy? You have a bright future. Don't assume the hate of the captains you fly around with. That gunk will eat at you.
