That's how my new hire training was on the Brasilia in the Comfort Suites.. I guess the CRJ guys were spoiled with their suites!

I'll admit, I probably used the word "suite" a little loosely.

Previous poster - if you get a little stir crazy at the hotel there's a pretty good taco stand down the street. There is a Rancho Market on North Temple, across the street from that to the west in the parking lot of the dry cleaners. Pretty good stuff, $1 per taco. Trust me, you'll need a reason to get out and take a break. There's a couple others around but this one is consistently better.

Good luck.

Get the double occupancy and use that money to rent a car. The shuttle was a pain and it is nice to be able to get out and explore the area -head up to the mountains and hike or explore on some downtime.

Again double occupancy is a good deal. Save your money! Also you will have a roommate which helps for studying/help with the info. Easier to get to know people within the class as well. They emphasize study groups in the beginning so again having that roommate makes it a little easier to at least always have someone there. It does get cramped in those rooms though so definitely recommend getting out of there from time to time. I used the flight safety building across the street to study. Always open tables in the break room area to spread your stuff across plus the tv and free coffee and snacks. I used the empty classrooms where the FTD's are if it was getting busy in the break room.

If you are driving up to SLC then I recommend packing several cases of your favorite beer!!!!! its stupid expensive to buy at the state store.

Totally depends on your finances.

But if your roommate snores or has other issues which keep you from sleeping/resting, be sure and let management know immediately (they'll move one of you at no cost). If you wait until you're failing sim to speak up, it will be too late.

Also if you're female I would wait until you arrive before you sign up to spend $1500...good chance you'll be "odd girl out" and end up with a single room for free.

To make sure this horse dies dead; I received single occupancy just by chance. Roll the dice, brother.

I sat on a plane yesterday, in a row of 3 planes, all waiting on captains. They don't seem to have any this month. Where have all the Captains gone? Long time passing. Where have all the captains gone, long time ago? Where have all the Captains gone, gone to majors every one, when will they every learn, when will they every learn?

They need to get way ahead on the Captain training. If they don't it will be bloody.

They also need to stop scheduling running pilots for the convenience of scheduling. They need more reserves because pilots call in sick. Pilots call in sick because they cannot adjust their schedules when they have something important that they must do.

I have been with other airlines and adjusting my schedule was never much of a problem. As long as people picked up trips with similar credit it was fine. Maybe that is more of a problem at small bases but at large bases it should not be a problem to trade trips with open time. I know that the general feeling is that scheduling is the number one item that needs reforming. I want to join in on that sentiment. Is anything being done?
