There isn't a wrong answer but Denver is slightly shorter commute with similar options, Spirit, Frontier, United and American, with SouthWest going to the same airport in KDEN. If you have friends family or loved ones, originating your commute out of the "wrong" airport is less of a hassle than it sounds.
You could even two leg it through COS, if it came to that.
Try them both out if you want.

Don't forget the timezone difference. It's key for commuting IME. I'd pick dener based on that alone.

I'm looking into moving into base once I can hold DEN but it might not be for a few more months.

I use to commute from DFW, and I've done the commute to just about everywhere. ORD is doable but has lots of AA commuters, but again has tons of flights with 3 airlines doing it. I did MSP, DTW and DEN as well. DEN is the shortest flight though, and its definitely nice to have a short flight home. IAH was nice too but again, I ran into lots of commuters on that one. At least IAH was drivable, but who knows what the future of IAH is? You really can't go wrong with any base from DFW. I miss living there for that reason alone.

Appreciate the response!

Hi Everyone,

Just wondering which base for new hires on the CRJ would get off reserve the quickest? Is there much overtime available? If you had no ties to any particular base, which would you choose and why? Thanks in advance

Go to Minneapolis. There is always something to pick up, a lot of people will wheel and deal on trip trades. You will have short reserve and when you upgrade you will know the area. You could also move to Detroit, cheaper housing and quick off reserve but it's smaller so there will be less to pick up.

Does anyone know what manual we find the codes used in skedplus? I got the code PEN4. I think I read on here a few months ago that is the code for the trip displacement? Also, if that is the displacement code the 72 hour mark has passed but my credit isn't the original? Do I have to call CS to give me back my credit for the displaced trip? Thanks

It is for displacement, the number is how many days of pending. They can assign something that falls within your original footprint up to 72 hours prior, at which point it should change to DIOE, displaced for ioe. The credit will not display properly until the pay period gets processed in my experience. The crew pay tab should show it correctly, but it's been kind of hit or miss for me.
