I will be looking for an interview around November, that's the plan for now.

From what recruiting has told me they want you to interview 2 to 3 months prior so you can get into a class when you have completed the time. You said you expect to be at 1400 in November will it take you another 2 to 3 months to get the remaining 100 hours? I guess the reasoning is your class date will be 2 to 3 months after you interview.

Really you only need 1475 hours when you start training as between ATP CTP and training for either CRJ or ERJ you will get the remaining 25 hours there.

Agree with the above! I would much rather fly with a new CFI fresh off IOE, than a former military guy who thinks he knows everything and has a crap attitude because he has been "stuck" here longer than he wanted.

As to your second comment, agree as well. I have to place the blame on some of our CAs as well. Being "laid back" on SOP isn't helping anyone. The newer guys are like sponges, absorbing everything good or bad.

I've flown with dozens of US military folks, 2 French Air Force pilots, and 2 Israeli Air Force pilots (most of whom were here less than a year). I have found each one (so far) to be extremely professional, humble, and eager to learn. My only complaint with a few of them is that they speak in this weird foreign acronym language.

Careful with lumping all former military as know it alls... being cocky is a personal choice, not a result of where you came from..

Yes, I have never had attitude issues with former mil types. Most of the CFI's are too intimidated to let any attitude shine through so it mostly comes from 91/135 types who realized that 121 was a better path and were going to show us regional types how it's done while waiting for the bigs to call...but even that's been rare.

So is it 60 or 70 900s coming?

Tks.

You should be able to get your ATP mind within 6 months from interview to class is a requirement. I believe 25 multi from sim

tcco94 05-24-2017 10:26 AM

Count on no more than 25 hours short on TT and Multi time when you get here.

By ATP checkride realistically you'll have 50ish hours in the sim or something like that (unless your procedures are in the matrix now).

Only can be used for TT and Multi, no night time no x-country etc. People assume you can "make the sim nighttime" but you can't. So at minimum show up 25 hours short and have at least 25 hours ACTUAL multi and you'll be fine.

Lots of people misinterpret and come up short. Had 2 people in my class who had to go rent an airplane on the weekend to fulfill night time and total time.
