Oh no not the dreaded "big announcement" again. Probably the training dept starting rumors for sport.

BOI is actually a pretty good place to live for pilots. Low cost of living, big enough but not too big, lots of outdoor/mountain recreation opportunities. And no weird liquor laws (or other cultural oddities). I bet 10% off the pilot group would bid in immediately.

You think 400 people would bid in immediately? Hahahahaha

I hope Alaska Pilots are working on scope language.

For their own sake anyway.

We can't fly anything bigger or heavier than a 175/900 because of delta. No matter who we try to fly it for.

Oh, it works out being heavier than the MRJ?? Wow, yet another thing I did not know. Sounds like there could be some serious problems ahead for sure. What all US regionals have orders for this E2?

Option value and negotiation leverage....

Getting an order on the book only takes a nominal down payment. Plus a lot of them come with contingencies. The order for 100 of the 175E2 are really 40 firm and 60 "subject to a successful capacity purchase agreement with a major airline" - so not quite as firm. And even the 40 "firm" have limited financial exposure as they can be converted to regular 175 as necessary or can be canceled outright and all you lose is down payment.

So it isn't a "big announcement" but a "big sky announcement" ...

Boise is in Idaho.

Montana is the "Big Sky" state.

Not sure what you're referring to?

Any idea on what I could expect if I selected "No Preference" for aircraft when I applied. I am sure that it will probably change after the announcement Nov 1st I have been hearing about.
