Skywest v2.0

You can't just compare hourly rates. Take a look at the work rules. Minimum daily guarantee, duty guarantee, premium pay, trip rig, holiday pay, etc.. If you don't know what those are and how the other airlines stack up do some research. How does the airline handle block or better. Leg by leg, or some sort of daily guarantee?
Most SkyWest pilots credit significantly more hours than they block every month.
As far as bonus payments. Beyond any sort of new hire payout, there are six a year here. It's an additional several thousand to over $10K a year.

I cant speak for others but having been to five interviews in a week's time with a couple of them at a job fair where I didn't get the whole company presentation spiel it helps to get reminders of who offers what, what is available and how much BS did the recruiter actually shovel at me
Lord help you for having such limited intelligence that you couldn't fathom why someone would come on here and ask questions
please do use a favor and go back to trolling hillary voters on your facebook feed

A guy in my class made the move to SkyWest from Envoy after having been there for several years. Some time has passed and he's still happy with his choice.

Yes, maybe Envoy from one year ago and before that, today they are turning around and AA is investing in them. I think we will have a hard time competing with Envoy in Chicago.... Lots of friends that I know have gone over there than us recently. Hell, I've thought of it too being low on the seniority list at ORD and still on first year pay.... I'm looking into if it's worth it or not.
If it weren't for us having so many western bases and drawing in applicants from there to staff DTW and ORD, we would be in a world of hurt right now.

Thanks! ...do new hires have different rules for upgrade times? (upgrade time is 2-years regardless, correct? Regardless of transition to the same airframe or another?)

Very appreciated! I'm guessing those 60-80 hours block represent the most senior? I'm concerned about the low end for most junior. I know it's impossible to guess with the new 175s coming, but I'm just checking what I can for now. Know anyone who is very junior at a 175 base (and if so can you ask them how much they fly)? Thanks!
As a line holder probably 60-80 block, credit more than that. How long to hold a line? No idea, we're getting 8 175s on the delta side alone between now and the end of the year so I would say pretty quick. Upgrade On 175 is a grey area. Ppl are getting it around 4 years and more but we're also staffing senior bases. They just started awarding it to Chicago ppl at 4 years so going down and like I said lots of 175s coming. Whole point is the 175 is in flux, the CRJ is as close to a certainty on reserve and upgrade times as you're going to get.

Pilot Profit Sharing pays out starting in the first year and pays out twice a year. It's based off the number of hours you work in the six month period it covers and whether you are in the right or left seat. I'm guessing again on the FO amount but maybe $1000 every six months.
Captains get more.

Got a CJO a few days ago and will be starting early 2017. I requested the CRJ and I'm more than a two hour drive from both DTW and ORD. I've heard both are junior for the CRJ and I could most likely get either one right out of training. I'm assuming ORD is a larger base, but since they're both about the same distance from where I live, are there any pros or cons to deciding between DTW and ORD?
