I played around with the numbers and they could TDT/Transfer about 25 pilots from ORD to the other 175 domiciles and every single base would be over 30% reserve coverage.

I'm a 2/22 hire...... Start sims 1st week of April. Doubt any of us will be online before end of may??? Anyone heard what the wait is for IOE lately?

That said, my buddy recently transitioned to the 175 and had seven weeks off between sims and IOE. Given that SKW was paying him second-year pay to sit at home, that was surprising. They normally try to get the online guys (i.e. not new hires) through training and online as fast as possible. If there's a wait, it's more likely to be the new hires because you guys are cheaper ;-) PS Wait a minute...weren't you at Compass? Or somewhere? What happened? |

It's anyone's guess, really. I had 7 weeks off between ground and sims. Then sims started on the 4th of the month. I had my LOE on the 22nd (yes, a very compressed sim schedule: just 16 days from FTD#1 to LOE, including breaks.) I started IOE the 29th and finished 8 days later (two 3-day trips with 2 days off in between.) So I basically went from start of sims to being online in 31 calendar days. But this was in 2014, so it doesn't have much to do with how things are going now.

Year 2 pay: $40 Year 1: $30 Paying the guy or gal on year 2 to fly 85 hours a month and the guy or gal on year one 76 guarantee = $5680 per month. Switch around and you get a cost of $5590. While it's not astronomical it still is cheaper to fly new hires and leave those on property at home making guarantee. It can be quite a bit if you add it up across the number of pilots OO has |
Except first year pay is now 36.50

No this is my first 121 flying. I'm trying to hit the flows , callouts and profiles pretty hard , in hopes that sims won't be the firehose that ground was:( |
