Why know it all? Like SkyWest is not gonna hire him. Even if you don't know it, you will still be hired. These days it's all about a pulse. All St George is interested in these days is keeping those seats warm, regardless if you know "all of it" or not.

Fly 4571 To KSEA Today? Cool Pic 4U!

We were holding short of 34C when 4571 touched down. Somebody on board got a sweet pic with the nose wheel still up, a puff of tire smoke behind, and Mt. Rainier glowing in the morning light. I didn't have time to resize it and post here, but I'll try later. PM if you're interested in the original.

How long after interview could one expect a class date?

With at least 2 classes per month on both aircraft expect that to be very close

Why would they? Do you really expect people to stay if they have a shot at getting into a major? There is very little SGU could do to entice people to stay - at least not at a reasonable cost.

The only thing they may be worried about is having the "wrong" CA leave, i.e. the junior aka cheap ones. I am sure they would love all the expensive long timers bold and replace them with more junior upgrades.

I agree. Nobody is not going to take a job with a major with the increased pay. But there is a certain demographic that will not go through the trouble and hassle of applying, log book updates and job fairs to get the job. They are toying with the QOL stuff that has made people stick around and I'm sure you are right that they want the more expensive people to move on. But we are losing more of the junior CA or people that have just gone through a training event to show United or Delta that they can still get through a ground class.

I'm sure that is the mindset, but attrition has already exceeded hiring as far as usable pilots go. Plus we are now losing CKA which slows down the training pipeline even more. Moflyer just said it took him 7 weeks to get through IOE. We have pilots that show MSP but do not show up on the bidding list because they are not through IOE. Today we have 40 more pilots on our seniority list than we did on January 1st, but I can guarantee we have less usable pilots as far as PBS bidding is concerned. That is the reason for the bypasses and low reserves in all our CRJ domiciles. Because they will just fill the gaps with those coming out of training. Check out the reserve details sometimes. There are tons of pilots showing up in other domiciles and not listed as OBR. And yet we just keep picking up extra flying. I don't see us getting enough people hired and through training to keep up with the summer block hours increase. I'm sure the SGU email server will be busy sending out the reliability emails over the next couple months.

Meanwhile on the 175 side is all the same. Keep piling people in ORD

You're asking the wrong group if you want info on class dates.

What group should I be asking? I assumed this was the SKW group and it was an SKW question.

Sorry that probably came across harsh towards you and that wasn't my intent. You are correct that you would think the pilot group would be the ones to ask. Unfortunately, I feel we are left in the dark most of the time with communication from our management team (and SAPA if we are being honest). As I mentioned, the last email we got from TG (who is our Director of Flight Operations) with any class information was back on November 21st, 2015. We do get quarterly updates from our Chief Pilots with class info, but the last one we had was for Q1 and listed the last March class that I mentioned.

There may be some people in the training circles that could help, but as far as the general rank and file, we are left in the dark most of the time. Sorry I couldn't provide a better answer for you.
