Airlines with a union negotiated contract require that vacancies be staffed per seniority. I am sure you guys love saving that 2%.....while getting bypassed for upgrade and corresponding raise.

well you will never see it at skw, majority pilots are bought off and are weak to fight for a union.

I enjoy working for skywest but our student government style voice for our pilot group is a joke. It's like getting your older brother to ask Dad for something that has already been given a firm no. We are just lucky our company doesn't inherently want to screw us like other carriers or else we would really be feeling the pain. That said, if our ability to hire and push new hires through dwindles, get ready to pull the shorts down and assume the position.

"The culture here has went downhill so much in the last five years I hate to see it in another 5. Chipaway is coming for us all"
Culture will continue to erode as the constant churning of employees dilutes the memory of what use to be. But CC is smart enough to see this and make his moves to further shift company focus away from the employee (and customer for that matter) to strictly $$. Nothing TG can do about it. Heck, he can't even speak for himself anymore as corp comm edits/clears all his communications. Get hired, get your time, learn as much as you can then move on. Sadly SkyWest is no longer a career destination. |
