Nothing against you personally CW, but regionals shouldn't be a career destination for anyone. It becomes a career for many due to circumstance, but one should never strive to make a career out of a regional.

SkyWest blew up because they exploited a few loopholes in the industry. It made a lot of money doing it, and mainline jobs were at the expense of these profits.

By SAPA aka Skywest management. Management tells SAPA how it is and SAPA tells the pilots how it is. That's how it is. The buy off is complete.

with golden days if I add them before the 1st of the month (Cutoff period for add ) then decide say on the 3rd that I want to cancel ( before bids are open )can I do that or is it set in stone? Im guessing the latter but just wanted to check.

Once the golden day is awarded you loose it if you cancel. Very stupid but they will not let you have them back.

I thought after the first of the month, you couldn't remove them. GD are worthless for me since it just messes with trip cadence and forces me to cram 90 hours into less days.

I would always use them for my kids birthdays to make sure I could have the day off. This year I will just be calling in for the trip that was put in layer 7 after it removed (replaced/not awarded) the ones I could have held in earlier layers that had her birthday off.

Looking at the last few pages, is there any reason for a newhire to want to go to Skywest? Or is it just a bunch of bad eggs on here drying their laundry? Have a CJO from Skywest and it sure looks like its gone to hell in the last few pages.
