I agree to have fun during CTP. Pretty laid back environment in the class and sims, but still lots of good info going on. Go check out down town SLC (are they doing CTP at the new training center in Denver now?). You can take the train straight downtown. We enjoyed Beer Hive, Squatters and Gracie's. We also took a day trip up to Park City.

Be smart going out during indoc and systems. Enjoy some time off during the weekends otherwise you'll get burned out quick.

Time on reserve is affected by the base and aircraft.

Your upgrade time is not affected by which aircraft you choose to fly as a new hire. If you choose to fly the ERJ as an FO, you can later upgrade to captain on the CRJ, much sooner than you would on the ERJ.

I thought I was going to SLC, for the atp-ctp but just got an email saying I'm headed to atl.

How much of a training delay is there between getting hired and class date?

Apart from the $7500 bonus for 135 or type rated guys, is there any indication if Skywest will start offering a signing bonus to all new hires?
I agree the hourly pay is good and comparable to others and I would love to work for Skywest but giving up a $15k signing and $10k-$15k retention bonus for a couple years is a hard pill to swallow...
Is their biggest selling point here the west coast bases?

Thanks for your input!

Not a chance. They are still filling classes so there is no need to give a bonus. The money is in line with other regionals, and while the bonuses are tempting there is a lot more to consider when looking at an airline.

You know something I don't? Please share because I would love to know why you think the upgrade time will drop on the ERJ.

Math? We continue to grow the ERJ fleet. It really isn't that hard to figure out. Yes, senior guys continue to transition over, but you will reach a point when the majority of those guys have already made the jump. We also have more and more guys who thought they were lifers make the jump to the legacies. The ERJ upgrade actually dropped below the CRJ for a short time a year or so ago. It's really a simple numbers game.

I heard they had a profit sharing program. Are there any other performance bonuses, etc?

Thanks!
