Have a class date tentatively scheduled for 4/28. Have any idea when announcements will be made as to who got in? Thank you.

I waited 7 weeks for IOE on the ERJ, I'm on year 10 pay as a captain, it was a nice vacation.

So how much of 91.175 do I need to know for the interview?

Is it that hard to know all of it?

How long after interview could one expect a class date?

I've never understood its usefulness, really. A domicile might show 0 vacancies, but 5 guys quit or transfer out, and you'll get your transfer regardless. Or, vice versa, a domicile might show 5 vacancies but they decide not to let people in, or bypass senior guys for transitions/transfers, and you don't get your transfer.

It's very odd.

Good thing we gave up the ability to turn down an award for the DVR. It doesn't make any sense and the numbers are never right. The active compliment is not the same numbers as the domicile and with trainings/LOA's there is way less pilots in base than the DVR lists. Just another psuedo win for the pilot group.

You're asking the wrong group if you want info on class dates. The last new hire class that was announced to the pilot group was the 3/31 E175 new hire class. Probably more of the same since we are really low on E175 FO's right now.

In other news, it will be interesting to see if SGU is officially in crisis mode with attrition. It seems the exodus is gaining steam and we have lost about 35 CA so far this month and will probably be over 60 total (CA and FO) by the end of the month. They have even gone as far as hiring a 3rd party to do a survey for those that leave. If they really wanted their eyes opened, they would do an anonymous survey for those of us still here. Sadly, they don't see that many of the reasons this used to be a great regional have been "chipped" away over the years.

Probably the stupid question of the year, it was late at night and I thought .175 just spelled out the 3 items needed to go below MDA/da and the 10 items that counted for the runway.

It's surprising long, with paraghraphs I never use, like section k pertaining to EFVS. I just wondering if I should memorize it all word for word, or if comlete a understanding of the whole regulation would be better use of my time.

They just want to know what you need to go past the mda/dh and what you need to land. That's it.

Why would they? Do you really expect people to stay if they have a shot at getting into a major? There is very little SGU could do to entice people to stay - at least not at a reasonable cost.

The only thing they may be worried about is having the "wrong" CA leave, i.e. the junior aka cheap ones. I am sure they would love all the expensive long timers bold and replace them with more junior upgrades.

Yet the list still continues to grow. I don't think they will change anything until attrition exceeds hiring.
