DTW opening is a good sign. They say they wont open anymore bases unless there is a serious commitment on a level of flying from our partners... I see DTW the next MSP (opens with 50-60 crews, then a few years later is 400)

Printed a copy of the MSP seniority list for displacement pay, CYA!

I'd rather commute to dtw than ord any day of the week from den (aka Jr capt will certainly go there Vs ord)

WaterRooster 04-30-2016 06:34 AM

Now if only the 175 would get more ORD flying......

Fingers crossed that you guys are right, I'm one of the few that actually want to be in MSP.

Funny how the last batch of newhires were all (ok not all but high percentage)from around DTW. Last 2 newhires ive flown with live in DTW...

DTW will open, then close, based upon DALs whimsy. Ask any SKYW pilot, f/a, ramper how ATL, SAN,SBA,MRY,SAC, or any number of other bases are working for them.....
Caveat Emptor.......
Buy the ticket, take the ride.

Probably spot on. Repubic is parking their 145's so Delta/Endeavor is opening two New York 200 domiciles. Endeavor can't ramp that up quick enough so they will probably use Detroit 200 crews until that is stable. I also saw on a GoJet thread that they will move out of New York and possibly open a Detroit base.

Whilst I agree with you theres a past history of closing bases, of that list I think ATL is the only significant one since its the only hub base. We have a 3 year lease on the hangar in DTW so they are probably assuming a stay for at least 3 years.
