Black leather, preferably goatskin, right? Is there something different about a SKW leather jacket?

There's a specific style and somebody might notice if you use the wrong one. Or maybe not.

There are actually two styles used at SKW, Gibson & Barnes from ten+ years ago and the current Perrone. As far as I know both are still authorized (I still use G&B), so if you can find a used G&B that should work too. I actually like the Perrone better but not enough to buy one since my G&B still works fine.

I am not saying that I am approving or dis-approving RJ in any way. But participation was relatively high at 49% - higher than any other SAPA election I can recall (and comparable to 55.4% in the most recent election for US President).

RJ got 62% of the votes.... to me that is more of a landslide victory that other people have claim for presidential elections recently.

I thought the other candidates had very valid points but this was a clear endorsement for RJ.

Again, that doesn't mean things are perfect at all. And we should keep pushing for improvement but I don't think it can be dismissed as a completely anemic pilot group.
The pilot group also voted in a 1% raise the last time so is proven they don't vote for their best interest.

What is best interest? Or what is acceptable to you/most?

They may have voted in 10% increase and it still wouldn't have satisfied someones best interest.

I agree that we probably had way more leverage than we thought and probably left money on the table. But apparently a large enough number of folks was happy with what was offered.

Hopefully, this will be a lesson for the next go-around.

Not even close. There are way too many senior captains who think whatever the first offer is the best we can get. Same song, 400th verse. Please sir, may I have another 1% raise?

What 250-300 out of 4000+ seniority list? The juniors put that vote over the top and everybody knows it.

The majority voted down the 1% raise .
Then the majority voted in a 1.5% raise with 401k concession taken out.

Retirement? A 401k is not a retirement unless the company contribution is something well north of 15% (which would of course exceed the limit).

A 401k is the government and corporate america's way to enable you to delude yourself that you'll be OK without your grandfather's defined-benefit pension.

With that said, and while 90% of my retirement planning falls in other realms, you might as well contribute enough to get the match. It's a tax-reduced 7% raise over the long run.
