Attrition is 30-40 a month. That alone keeps upgrades around 3 years for the forseable future.. and all these 2-3 year upgrade guys will be out of here fast.. ot like in the past with the 5 year upgrades that stay another 5-15 years...

Still two years is great compared to what it used to be even if you have to move to Detroit to get it. I think I would wait an extra year for the 175 and be West coast based.

Just to be clear - all ER7 upgrades were awarded to ORD. Only west coast CA slots were transitions of verrrrrrry senior people.

And just a few months ago ORD was senior for ER7 CA, everything is constantly changing at this point.

Junior Captain our of the four west coast ER175 domiciles is still at 4 1/2+ years. The only awards this time around were for a couple to LAX and the junior guy is at 28 years. One CRJ award at 15 years.

The west coast bases are primarily occupied by the lifers and a good majority won't be going anywhere. They are pretty much filled up now with the deliveries we've had planned and new positions out there won't be as plentiful. ORD on the other hand has always been junior filled mostly by guys looking to move on (as well as MSP).

I believe it's 8 more175s by June, and ORD aren't getting any. So 8x16 = 128openings west coast, or 64 a side. Look for BOI base before end 2nd quarter

So how long to upgrade at a West Coast base if I wanted to wait until I could hold a line? BOI is a good place I thought Alaska was there.

BOI has 10 aircraft there at night.. i can see it being a E175 base by fall...

BOI may indeed become a base - likely to be very senior though.

And I believe a number of the to be delivered UA 175s are slated for ORD.

I heard from MT that BOI is happening before end of next quarter, apparently different ppl in operations have been pushing it he felt they didn't reach "critical mass" yet of aircraft overnighting there a night, with the deliveries happening by June he said they'd reach that point so take it for what it is. It might be senior CA side, there will be a time where it's junior where people are feeling out pairings, but even if it's senior it means other bases will become slightly more junior.

So I was recently told by one of the pilot recruiter/interview individuals at the first day orientation deal that (not word for word) a pay increase is expected. Was very vague. Perhaps just his own hopes.

Anything rumor mill wise? From my understanding of what was said later on that day, if there are bonuses, they probably won't effect current employees so much as new guys (so the typical bonus to attract people).
