Curious why the West Coast 175 upgrades went so insanely senior this bid. Hope that's not how it'll be the rest of the year...

Skywest v2.0

They need to do something to restore the 2nd-yr. bump. 2nd yr pay for me will work out to be equal to or slightly less than 1st yr due to the type bonus and yr 1 to yr 2 pay gap being closed. It's not cool at all that I'm making substantially less than people at Endeavor or PSA with the same longevity.

The next few 175's are going to be ORD based. That's why they all the transitions went there. Not sure where the next 175's are going. Pretty sure more DL ones are still on the way?

It's not too late for you.

Not the worst thing in the world. Peeps on the bottom will be doing reserve and amazing (sarcasm) standups for a while out in sfo at least.

Best of luck tho

Sometimes money is just simply not the most important element to be sought after.

The issue at hand is getting through the regional process as fast as possible. I would suggest working for one of the Kanodia owned companies, you will stay hungry, irritated, ant that will fuel your need to get hired at a your next step.
OTH, you could go to a semi comfortable regional, live in a semi comfortable domicile, make a semi comfortable wage and then when you decide that semi something isn't cutting it, you can apply to the next step and swing the gear for the guy who powered through the regionals because it sucked, bigly. All your semi's will have cost you only hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars at the end of your career......

Research could have been your friend, but snowboarding is cool too bro....

Not everyone gets the bonus, so it's a bump as usual. If you blew your bonus and/or living above your means in the second years that's on you. Everyone wants free money, be happy you work for a company that's not a dumpster fire. You think they are giving bonuses out out of the goodness of their hearts? That's not how business works.

Except multiple regionals that pay far better have a comparable upgrade time...some less (if only temporary). At this point, a new guy probably isn't going to have the hours to upgrade before the minimum upgrade time at most places. Upgrade time could go to 1 day and it wouldn't help me much, without previous 121.

But recruiters won't tell you that and fool some of these guys into thinking they can upgrade in 8 months. It's hilarious.

I agree with what a previous poster above said. I think certain regionals will give you a better QOL than others. Maybe you desire pay more than someone else, maybe you don't want to live on the east coast.

It was pretty easy for me to decide to come here. Sure, I'd like a $10,000 check (who wouldn't) but I'm also happy I can live where I want. 2 years to upgrade is a-ok with me. I'm planning on skiing on all my days off and enjoying myself.

Everyone has a different story and different desires. The quicker people learn that and stop arguing or just listening to someone online, the better off you'll be. Figure out your desires and then outweigh your options. Stop letting the internet people do it. It's not like Skywest pays Mesa pay so lets not get carried away. Also no I don't expect them to give out sign on bonuses $10k+ like some of these other regionals. Common sense would tell you why.
