Definitely Skywest. But – just be aware you may be commuting for some time, and when you do get a West Coast base, you may be on reserve for quite some time longer.

I'm not really sure what you're talking about. People are still getting west coast before finishing training. We continue to hire around 100/month. We're poised well to pick up any flying other carriers can't handle, which is happening monthly.

Awards still being processed but right now the most junior captain is a 02/22/2016 hire. May upgrade classes.

It's down to 10 months. We've obviously hit the wall of FOs who don't have the time to upgrade. Crazy, I never thought we would get here. That's less than 80% seniority company wide.

Wow, one year one month from hire to upgrade award. We have to be hitting a ton of FO's without the SIC.

You have to wonder how many of those awarded an upgrade actually have the time. Crazy.

If you had to pick a regional today, would you still choose SkyWest or would you pick a wholly owned American regional where you have a flow and almost double the pay? If not, can you tell me why you would pick SkyWest again.

I really appreciate any solid answers. As you know, choosing a regional is a big decision and I'm trying to decide what's best for my career and family.

Used to live in DFW. Came to SKW for the reputation (and pay at the time). Moved to base. Don't regret it at all, even though the WOs are offering huge bonuses. Already holding a line. Barely sat reserve.

I was one of those people that was undecided between the two. I'm happy at SKW and believe I made the right choice.

I'm guessing with the huge jumps between awards, she's checking as she goes.

Jvw700 03-29-2017 11:31 AM

If you don't have the required time, you don't get the award.

Correct. Nothing gets published that doesn't meet all of the requirements:

1000 SIC
2500 Total
Age 23

Are you looking at the same award lists I am? Look at the percentage of guys on reserve in West Coast bases (not counting PHX, which is growing quite a bit.) Yes, E175 guys are getting West Coast bases out of training. Now tell me how long they're gonna be on reserve.

A long time.
