Skywest Online has my hire date as the day I accepted their offer. Is that our official DOH used for bidding or is it ground School grad date?

Thanks!

Your official date of hire will be the first day of class. It'll be changed in SWOL. You'll be able to jumpseat when you get your badge. That could be a week or so into class. I can't remember, but I think United benefits start at 2 weeks in.

They update the DOH to the second day of Indoc. At least they did for us.

You should have your United benefits now, in Indoc. Even without your ID and KCM you should be able to reference the travel manual to use them. Jumpseat when you get your ID.

A DEN base question...

Assuming it's around for the long hall with United...CRJ-200s are going away, CRJ-700s are slowly going away, and E175s are increasing.
Am I right?

How long for a new hire to hold DEN on the E175? Pointless to say anything on CRJ since they are going away and wanting the DEN base.

Crj-200's are going away in Denver? First I heard that.

They are not - CRJ 200 will be around for much longer than most people realize.

I suspect they will outlive the 700 and maybe even 900 by many years ....

Pretty sure the 700 reduction already happened a few months back. They still have them and people are actually still getting in on the CRJ. Just a few months ago like 10 or so transfered in. The list is long though.

If you want DEN, I'd just go 175. Pretty sure it's going to be a long wait either jet you pick and the 175 should be around longer there where as the CRJ you're just taking a gamble on if we get more or less UAL contracts in the future.

Everyday a new rumor comes up but the fact is nobody can predict what will happen next month or even 6 months from now. Look at SFO. CRJ 6 months ago was fast to hold a line, now they cut it almost in half this month? Who can predict any of this?

If you want DEN or West coast your best bet is the 175 right now. That looks like it won't change.

I'm sorry I thought all the <50 seaters were leaving per United?

United is going all E-Jets and I don't think the United/SkyWest contract is going anywhere.
Thanks for the help!

Solo yet?
Things will look vastly different by the time you join the regionals. I'd focus more on your flight training vs. how long to hold a line in Denver right now.

No, they aren't leaving. United did say that they wanted to shrink 50 seat fleet in half, but then they hired this guy from AA named Kirby who likes regionals and i haven't heard much more about 50 seat planes going away. 50 seat fleet is getting shifted around. Air Wisconsin (who has 65 CRJ200s all in AA colors) just signed a contract with United for 50 planes plus 15 options (so basically they will repaint those planes into UA colors). Eventually, one day, all the E145s and CRJ200s will be too old to keep flying, and they won't be built anymore so who knows what the regional landscape will look like when those planes start getting mothballed.

Now step away from the keyboard and focus on flying. In two years, start looking at this section of the forum again and you'll see that nothing looks the same.
