What's the problem with having your app filled out....?
At some point down the road he/she will reach competitive minimums, so why not already have the application complete. Being able to show you've had your application in and have been updating it on a regular basis since starting in the 121 world can mean a lot.
Who ****ed in your cheerios dude?

He/she isn't too far off from possibly getting hired at a major.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news for you, but there are a number of relatively junior FOs moving on to the majors with no military or TPIC. The only way you can guarantee you won't get a call is if you don't your apps in.

Guys do you think that Mesa will lose the contract with United and Skywest will take over Houston with 175s ? I was considering to apply for Mesa because of the base but Skywest is a better place to work for sure. Thank you for any advise

Dunno. Mesa has been fired multiple times in the past. But if you wait long enough, they'll be back.

Yes, May 20th that will happen, we will also get 20 175s for AA in DFW, new base there as well, plus the BOI and ATL base.

Nodoby knows!! But, if you were/are considering Mesa, I'll say go for it!!

He should be. Nobody has quite yet cracked the code as to what the HR filters are looking for, but we've had more than a few FO's with 1,001 turbine 121 SIC go to majors, even legacies.

If nothing else they seem to like sustained long-term interest (update your app every month or two). Upgrade's right around the corner, better to be the guy with 1,000 TPIC who's had his app in (and updated) for several years than the guy with 1,000 TPIC who just applied yesterday.

At J.O.ke Airlines the jokes on you.

He will probably be hired well before a great majority of captains at SkyWest as well if he keeps up this level of interest. There are so many CAs here who had applied a leap year ago and update every three months, they do not attend job fairs and do not volunteer. I think the captain that wins the Darwin Award is the guy who complained nonstop over a four day trip why United isn't calling...upon probing a little further, he hasn't even applied!! No wonder that they're taking young, motivated FOs over lazy dinosaur captains.

I my friend just got a class date at the big D, not even 2500 hours TT, a few years shy of 30 too. it was a guy too. He had a masters FWIW. The competitive requirements are slowly shrinking. An AA LCA said they expect to drop the PIC requirement by the end of the 2019

WesternSkies 04-25-2017 07:14 AM

What is AA's PIC requirement?
