Anyone have any luck getting Logbook Pro on their Surface? I see that we can only add software from the Microsoft Store but not sure if there are any exceptions for logbook programs.

I don't like it at all. America is still a country and I won't apologize for wanting my countrymen in these job opportunities. The more scarce the pilot resource the better the wages are driven for me and Americans to fill these jobs. These visa fellows are counter productive to that.
While I've talked admittedly to few, none were interested in actually becoming an American. I am very pro-immigration but this is nothing more than a corporate workaround to not paying people the market rate. Everyone loves capitalism as long as the market is in their favor. Finally my ears can't understand half of what they mumble into a "qflymic". Most of the people I've knocked heads with have accents. I think I **** them off by saying "what?" continuously. Seriously, who cares if Aussies are coming over here. Time builders will still be able to get hired. They're doing everything they can to keep ahead of the shortage. Don't be mad we don't have more Americans qualified (or frankly speaking wanting to fly for us). |

Why do you care as long as it is legal immigration? It is my understanding is SKW is not putting up the money for immigration attorneys.
My concern is if we start seeing a flood of Chinese or Indian pilots in the right seat. I haven't seen that. Only a few Aussies. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3d02ee5a40.jpg |
Well the good news, at least for the mid-term, is that most of the rest of the world has an even bigger pilot shortage than we do. Oz and Canada are among the few places which have a general aviation infrastructure large enough to generate export pilots. Most of the rest of the world relies on ab initio training, which means those pilots are locked into working for their home carriers and that's not going to change this century. Most would prefer to stay home anyway, pilots generally come from the upper middle class or better and tend to have the opportunity for a good life back home...they're not starving migrant labor. |
Hey is LAX a Erj base? Came across a website that said LAX is only a Crj base.

Hey guys. FO new hire here. I'm trying to figure out which regional I will end up at. I know you all love this question....The 3 I have offers from that I'm considering are Skywest, PDT, and PSA. I've pretty much got it narrowed down to PDT and Skywest. I know this is a personal question as there are multiple variables, all of which I've considered. For me the flow is enticing at PDT. Strictly on QOL and bases I would prefer Skywest. However it appears career progression will occur faster with PDT which is also important to me. Numbers currently show flow to American in 4-5 years at PDT. If anyone has selling points they want to throw at me for PDT or Skywest, go for it. I fully anticipate the smart ass remarks and belittling these forums are rampant with. 13 years in the military, I can take it. :) Seriously though, this is a big decision obviously and I'm pretty much at the point of flipping a coin so any input helps. Thanks.

I really enjoyed working at SkyWest though. |
Take the flow, nothing prevents you from applying to the other majors while at PDT.
