Thanks guys. I was going to see if they may also offer positive seating to training from SAN instead of from only PSP or LAX. For other SAN people, how were you getting to these places? Rides from a buddy? Left your car at the airport? Uber? Just need to work out some logistics since the closest base is 2 hours away

Considering there was someone on here that choose Republic over SW because of single occupancy, it may get a couple more people. Personally, my own room over a couple weeks in training would not be a deciding factor in me choosing an airline but to each their own.

If I was given a PEN4 for someone doing IOE and I have 5 days off prior to the PEN4 starting, am I obligated to acknowledge the trip or can I ignore them since I am a line holder and have assigned days off? Shouldn't they have assigned the trip prior to me being released and then I would've had to acknowledge them?

You need to acknowledge, it's hidden in the PPM somewhere.

PEN4 in red doesn't mean they have a trip for you, it means you've been displaced and they *might* put some other flying in that footprint.

If they haven't done that by 72 hours prior to the original show, then you're off with pay for the entire period. I would suggest logging on at EXACTLY 72 hours and taking a screenshot showing the date/time...even if it's the middle of the night. Then stay the hell off of SKWOL.

Sometimes they get busy and miss the 72 hour window and will then try to assign it within 72 hours. Don't sign on or or acknowledge it, and ignore your phone. Worst that will happen is they'll try to pretend the trip was assigned >72 hours but you can easily prove they're lying by showing your screenshot.

If they do assign something outside of 72 hours, you have to acknowledge it. But there are limits...it must be within the original trip footprint, including any deadheads (don't accept an unrealistic deadhead home at the end). They can give you two trips within the original foorprint, but no more. Ie, if it was originally a 4-day they could give you two 2-days, but they could not give you four locals, or a 3-day and two locals.

You ever shared a room with someone who snores? You'll be sleeping
in the lobby.

Amen. Especially when I'm the one doing the snoring. Was fine with it in boot camp. This is not boot camp..

I'm not sure which is more redicilous, making a career decision going to RAH over SKW because of double occupancy hotels OR the fact that SKW expects their grown adult professional employees to share a hotel room for 4+ weeks.

My roommate in training snored a lot, I finally got fed-up and called one of the training managers, told her I had enough. Got my own room for the remainder of training. Maybe new-hires just need to start complaining more.

You are an infidel non-believer, until you are on line, then you are a widget-infidel, still beneath contempt, but useful to make money from the sweat of your labor.
