Skywest is a business with all the business things like...*customers*.
Our customers decided to renew (buy) a smaller amount of flying than they had before.
Xpressjet is transitioning to a dual class fleet and even then they are hopeful that United will have to keep the 145 lift with new *profitable contracts*. Profitability is a business thing too.

Inc block hours have been shrinking yoy. United has selected other airlines to fly the 145. They sure aren't at skyw.

It's sad how this played out, and how tools like Dusenwhateverhisnameis are salivating over the carcass of a nearly dead airline. There is zero class and decorum from people like that. Thankfully, those with that attitude are in the minority over there.

Uh WHAT? No, I do not salivate over what is happening to XJT. And you, sir, seem to be on track to being a regional lifer thanks to your arrogance and entitlement attitude and lack of motivation to move on.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a reversal of trend here. I believe UA was going for the lowest bidder and they may not get what they have bargained for, e.g. C5? We may see some of that coming back to XJT (or SKYW).

Except for the fact that management was offered Skywest pay and work rules in exchange for a complete integration. They turned it down. That alone would've made xjt profitable...but they didn't go for it. Wonder why?

Management actually talks about this with new hires? I always figured it was just line pilot chatter.

Looks like 9 months upgrade was just a one time glitch.
Upgrade stabilized just under 2 years last few awards.
Most junior CA in this one end of August 2015 hire so far
