"SAPA and the Company have agreed to review the First Officer Year 1 pay scales on a yearly basis. Upon mutual agreement between SAPA and the Company. the First Officer year 1 pay scales may be adjusted with or without modifying the remaining Pilot Policy Mnaual."
What was also removed with this TR was that the max first year pay isn't now capped at $36.50

What part of that that says the company can just do it at any point on their own?
It says with agreement between SAPA and the company...and for SAPA to agree to it they have to have a pilot wide vote (SAPA bylaws).

Sapa Prez update made my eyes roll into the back of my head but I do agree that many big good things happened in 2017 for this pilot group.
I thought it was funny that our 5 year agreement was called a 3.5 year agreement since it will only go 3.5 years past when the old was previously scheduled to expire.
The idea that our agreement made other airlines open negotiations early is laughable. The general state of the market (which we do belong) has been causing the upward pressure for all of us.

SAPA has done some good things this year (minus the garbage TA) but for him to suggest that our concession of a TA pushed other regionals to pass industry leading contracts is an absolute joke.

64 “new” airplanes. How many of those came from the ASA side?

And 100’s more ASA pilots (that would have been happy to merge with skyw pilots) are off to skyw competitors (Envoy, PSA, etc...). The attrition in January will be massive to those places. I’m sure those airlines would like to thank chip personally.
Will be fun to watch Chip try to staff skyw over the next few years as attrition picks up. Might be wishing he had held on to the ASA folks. But hey, at least when the skyw pilots are flying max days on and min days off, sapa will be there looking out for you.
Well done chip
