I have heard Horizon pilots say something to that effect that they feel they are at a disadvantage getting hired at AS.

It definitely happened with DAL and OO during the last big boom. Nothing hypothetical about it, majors are not going to shoot their own regional feed in the foot if push comes to shove. Nothing illegal about it.

But there won't be any big announcement, you'll never know when STOPLOSS is in effect.

It’s not about you. It’s about the majority. Sucks to be in the minority, but a commuter clause will work for most people. Will be fighting for it soon.

There are many things which could be done to improve SKW, relative to recent industry developments. But I think you'll be end up wishing you had spent the negotiating capital on something other than a commuter clause which will have strings attached... the company is simply not going to let every commuter call off one trip per month carte blanche.

Look at the new proffering policy as a perfect example. New “policies” here with the intent of improving QOL usually do the opposite. Be careful what you wish for and remember who’s writing in the loopholes.

UPGRADE QUESTION..

When are you considered to be based at your new domicile as a CA? I have an event in June that I'm currently using golden days for and I have to be there. Would I be able to use move days in place of those if they aren't available?

Vacay and golden days are deleted on day one of training. At some point you'll be allowed to bid for them in the new position, not sure if that's after IOE (probably).

Move days I think are "mutually agreeable" which means "at the convenience of CS".

If the timing works, you might try to get IOE scheduled around the event. Since IOE is not really seniority driven, that girl can be flexible.

Once you're awarded an upgrade if you put in for vacation and gold days you are put into the captain list. I start class next month, put in for gold and vacation days for May after the award, and was put on the captain wait list.

What do you want to know? It’s still a base.
