Could I guy expect to sit

Reserve 175 in Sfo or Boi? I know this is a very dynamic

And ever changing variable. Thanks again

I was paired with a captain. Captains pick their training partner.

2 bedroom 2 bath with a living room and a functional kitchen. I was pleasantly surprised.

I was based in ORD for 3 months, made it to SFO, sat reserve for about 3 more months. 3 months later I’m bidding for the days off I want and generally getting them.

I’d be more senior in BOI.

I also sent you a PM. Since you’re about to do the exact same thing I did. Feel free to contact me anytime.

Gainz!!

Ya I remember. I lived through it. Where were you? There’s no correlation between Comair and what’s going on at Skywest. Comair’s relationship with Delta was so toxic I’m not sure anything could’ve saved it. I would compare it to the relationship that ExpressJet has with Skywest. When you shrink an airline it becomes top heavy. When you grow it it has the opposite effect.

I was dodging bullets, and you completely missed my point.
Comair endeavored to raise the regional bar.
See what I did there?
Gee, I wonder how this will end?

Endeavor honestly doesn't have to make a profit. DL can and will keep them floating as long as they have a need for their existence.

They still don't want to blow money at something if they can get the same / similar product in a more cost effective way, i.e. SKYW...

Yes, they are owned by DL but doesn't excuse stupid moves.

Not a stupid move if you want a pipeline of pilots on hand for their years of high mandatory retirement. Sometimes it is about the long game. If the pilot shortage wasn't real, no one would be throwing money at it the way they are.

Well he has a point. It must be pretty frustrating working for a company when over half of the group is content with subpar gains when the rest of the industry is making significant gains. Not to mention the slow erosion of quality quality of life issues

Most of them just want to live where they like (in the West) and don't care much about the regional industry. They certainly don't care what you or anyone from another airline thinks.

They're not in it to make gains, which is long term impossible in the regional industry.

If you want to make gains, update your apps and move on. The entire point of the regional business model is to PREVENT gains.

Regional pilots arguing about a few bucks here and there is like ho's arguing about relative virginity.

Quick question guys

Does anyone know if my Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating needs to be "Current" coming over from Australia? Or do I just need to have one?

As they are perpetual, I'm wondering if the SIM check at the end of training covers me for recency? or is there a clause somewhere stating my Australian MECIR must be current at the time of the check to be able to convert it to a US one and make it current?

Would save me a few $$$ if I didn't need to do an IPC (its what we strange folk in the land down under call an Instrument Proficiency Check, is it the same there?) before I come over.

Thanks very much!

It’s the same here. If you haven’t been staying current on your own and require an IPC, then yes. You have to do it before training. You must be instrument current when you show up for class.
