And this is exactly why you need a union, whether Alpa, Teamsters, your own, etc. When a big multi-million dollar company goes up against the average regional Joe pilot in court... Joe pilot is going to lose. They will drown you in legal debt. Throw in some high priced attorneys paid by a union's deep pockets and maybe you have a chance. We had a guy at XJT who was terminated 3 times. Union got his job back twice and the third time was the charm.

Are you doing the course where you get 10 hrs in the sim before you go to Indoc in. Denver? Its the one for guys that don’t have an ATP. I’m no expert, but I did stay in a holiday inn express last night (no really!) and if you do that course you should be fine.

Of course a bit of flying before you head out for training won’t hurt. Other than your wallet of course.

The email just said they have locked me in for a CTP ERJ course on the 16th April and a corresponding Ground start date of 26th April. They haven't mentioned the ATP (or is that included in the CTP course?) its a little confusing. If you or anyone else is able to clarify whats involved in all this it would be great :)

Thank you!

You’ll get your ATP when you get the 170/190 type. It all happens at the end of your checkride

I was not a huge screwup, nor a koolaid drinker or cheerleader. Had some frank discussions with leadership at times. But I was responsible, and proactively addressed a couple of big problems in my time. In other words a good employee (not to be confused with a push-over or yes voter).

Everyone I know of who got fired had it coming (except DD, which got fixed and the company apparently learned their lesson). Do your checklists, fly the plane, don't lie and you'll be fine.

Training accommodations and sim partners

I understand that new hires are
Double occupancy in training.....is this a suite with 2 separate bedrooms? I’m also curious as to the choosing of sim partners......do you pick or does Skywest do that for you?

Separate bathrooms. As a former corporate guy I imagined double occupancy was going to be horrible, but it wasn’t bad.

Captains in transition training picks sim partner, based on seniority.
