What was the 2009 offer?

Default Concession discussions in our future?

Just saw it. Fingers crossed. 500 people choosing to spend time with their families would be enormous. (Pulled that number out of my rear. No idea how many they'll actually find)

Not too many, I'm afraid. I asked every guy above 60 in the last 2 months. Nobody was interested. Unless the deal is really sweet, there will be very few takers.

If it was an offer like AA had, I think we would have lots take the leave. I am sure the offer will be more like 2009. A rubber duck and some extra swag points .

I just don’t see the draw for senior guys to leave early outside of health reasons. 5 weeks vacation that can be turned into months. Fly a couple days a month for thousands of dollars and good benefits. Give away or be “sick/fatigued” for anything you don’t want to fly. Don’t dip into retirement dollars, so there’s a chance to catch an upswing in the market and recoup anything recently lost.

Would be great for the company, as they’re shedding the most expensive and least productive employees, but the deal would have to be too sweet to be cost effective in the long run.

They could also save by forcing FA’s who haven’t worked in years to either do their job or leave.

Each CA position that takes those options is equal to 2 jobs saved. Lets say 500 pilots take the options, equals 1000 jobs saved. Is it worth it to furlough 500 when it does more damage to your brand than keeping pilots on property?
Call me an optimist, but by the end of June we will be flying 60% of our schedule. EU said tonight that summer travel will be open. I’d say we are doing good and barring any large setback, we will setup for the future.
You say that one early out Captain saves two pilot jobs. I don't follow you. Please show your math.

I think they meant in a normal situation when we are hiring; an early out opens a Capt seat for a FO and opens an FO seat for a new hire. With downgrades, an early out is just 1 seat.
