Thanks waterski for all of the great info. I do have a question about the ETOPS seat lock. Say I get OAK out of training in March- will I not be able to swap to an East coast base until August? Or do not all new hires get ETOPS certified?

New hires aren’t locked into etops domiciles if those domiciles are their bottom choice(s). I’m not sure how training will work for new hires but I’m sure someone will chime in.

  1. A new hire will not be locked into an EBG (etops bid group) in his vacancy award if they are his last vacancy preference(s).
  2. If there are EBGs in multiple domiciles, locked EBG pilots will be permitted to bid between the domiciles in the vacancy bid.

Id hope they’d tell you this when they have you do your bids.

They just announced to recall all remaining FO on Exto for February. So I assume new hire classes will follow.

well, the 2nd new hire class starts tomorrow. There’s a Dec 7 class already started. And the ExTO recall notice came out last week…tonight’s email is the same info again.

so yes new hire classes will follow but they’ve also already started.

If you go to system seniority in the reports tab on CWA you can add it up yourself, but looking at the seniority list, I’m seeing 58 with a 14 Dec start date.
