Half of these vacancies are set aside for Domicile Right of Return guys (displaced) and the rest will likely go to those that have been waiting even longer to get off the west coast…with backfilling going into OAK and LAX by the new hires and new upgrades. Reductions. Assuming nobody bids out or upgrades from that base/seat, you’ll see displacements. Many times, even with reductions, you’ll still have people move in since more will bid out that the number of reductions.

The swapa vacancy projection shows all displaced FO’s getting back to their desired domicile with the exception of a handful of guys looking to bid into Dallas.

New hires will get Oak, Lax, Las, and one or two will sneak into Denver. Mdw is only 20 numbers senior to Denver. Bwi is 80 numbers senior to Mdw. Said another way, it takes 120 new hires below you to hold Denver, 140 to hold Mdw, and 220 to reach Bwi. January and February have small class sizes so figure 3-4 months minimum before a new hire can hold east of the Mississippi, at least until the June vacancy will will probably lower those times by a month (150+ new hires on that bid).

Also, it looks like we will have a new junior Captain in Oakland.

DAL isn’t that far from HOU. I could see some CA’s bidding DAL creating more vacancies on that side. Then Sr. FO’s will take upgrade spots or others might bid out if their % in base/commute looks better elsewhere.

I’d be surprised if any more are forced elsewhere.
