thus spreading out the flying over more pilots, reducing reserve coverage, and increasing our ability to adjust our schedule and pick up open time if that's your thing? The operation works so well when they build out our lines to 95+ tfp...

If you think the base will be negatively impacted by the possible loss of 7 flights a day in a base with over 1500 pilots, I’d say you’re wrong.
As DEN is also a UAL hub it would allow for commuters to/from DEN to get to work easier as you’ve got more options in ORD/IAH/DFW areas vs MDW/HOU/DAL.
Of all the things in the TA, it’s one I don’t give a crap about. It doesn’t affect me at all. I’m never moving and won’t have to deal with crosstown Ubers unless it’s on the company dime as a rsv pilot (then the onus of getting me to the right airport is on them since I don’t care where I go or how/when I get there).

No, I don’t. They’ll grow where they can, when they can. MDW and DAL are out of room….in those two cities, to expand, ORD and DFW are needed. HOU is getting some more gates, but that’ll be a couple years away and there’s a small market for IAH. This allows them to add a few flights and save on hotels for the terminator/originators…I’m fine never overnighting there again.

Same thing in Chicago. Get out of OHare. Add 5 gates to what is already a beautiful facility in DuPage and own the place.
(this is why I’m not in management. I’m an idea guy but there’s probably no numbers to support it.)

If I were king for a day I’d tell AW to forget about DFW. Build a 5 gate terminal at Alliance with customs and room to expand. Bookend the metroplex without ever touching DFW. People from Fort Worth and west would fly out of Alliance, while those in the eastern and northern suburbs use Love. Why subject ourselves to the delays and chaos for the handful of gates we would be able to get at DFW?

Possible thinking though for ORD/IAH/DFW could be for code shares….let Lufthansa or whomever do the heavy lifting from EU or wherever and then we take them to their final destination in the States.
That only makes sense if they actually use the scope provisions that we’ve given them…if not, I like your idea better.

I also seem remember SWAPA telling guys back in early 2000's these options in lew pay, is going to be easy soft money! I was told the strike price was like $12.81 and the price of that LUV stock never got above $13.00 for some years, until all the options the pilot group expired and the very next year the price shot up to well over $26.00. You guys seem to forget the "Golden Rule" "Thee who has the gold, makes the rules" This TA once implented is going to be a a title wave that will break this group for years to come.

Now that is smart…..
