OK, I stand corrected. It wasn't her husband. Supposedly, it was a "trusted friend."

BS? Cop out? Again, I want someone to tell me what an airline pilot who fully understands FOQA, ASAP, FDAP, how training is handled, how errors are dealt with, CRM principles etc would say to the FAA person once they answered the phone. Your layman probably doesn't know much if anything about these programs or how our industry operates, but an airline pilot does. That's why going to the FAA over something like this if you're an airline pilot just doesn't make sense. It's non-sensical. It's like dividing a number by zero.

What question with no answer at the moment do you want answered? That it was/wasn't her/him? Does make sense, doesn't make sense? You're getting pretty wrapped around the axle about it calling people knuckledraggers, etc.

I assume at this point that at least 50 percent of this story is pilot lore spread around the sewing circle like wildfire in places like this. I don't even care what is truth and fiction at this point.
United pilots, I fly heavily to most of your hubs and welcome at least 1 or 2 of you every single trip. You are more than welcome to sit anywhere on my airplane. The many should never pay for the sins of the one. No bribes necessary. I just ask the same in return. I would even welcome the young lady in question, but not before having a long chat behind a closed door with someone else present.

Knowing what you know about safety reporting systems in place, CRM concepts, how we train industry-wide, and what transpired i.e. you observed a minor error, brought it to crew's attention, crew immediately trapped the error and thanked you for pointing it out, what would prompt you as an airline pilot to call the FAA in the first place and what would you tell them?
