No failures.

Currently PIC on the B737NG/MAX on a Foreign 121 equivalent.

Interviewed mid October, 25 interviewees that morning, 4-5 got the CJO a few days later, about 10 days later everyone got the TBNT email except three of us, 23 days later one got the CJO call and the other guy and I TBNT email.

Very disappointed with the outcome, thankful for the opportunity, I would’ve been a great place to finish the rest of my flying career.

Congratulations to the few guys/gals getting the CJOs.
Wow. So many comments running through my head right now but for the sake of others reading, I’ll just keep my mouth shut.

I hope this turns out to be a situation that’s a blessing in disguise and you end up at an even more desirable carrier than SWA. The seniority progression at UAL & AA promised to be nuts barring any black swan event.

Hear they’re hiring about 25% of the applicants.

That does not give me the warm and fuzzies. At around 2 weeks from interview and still waiting.

im not sure what the hiring team is looking for. Is it because they have a boat load of applicants and they are being super picky or are they specifically looking for something we all can't see based on stats and numbers?
im sure when everyone's hiring kicks back into full swing they will be hiring those that would have been passed over based on numbers and stats.
It seems the new process is not favorable to those with traditional experience. Idk.
very frustrating to watch.

Is it a score based system on the interview or is it based on “feeling” of the applicant?

I’m certainly not going to attack the company because they didn’t hire an anonymous poster, here, with big numbers. SWA deserves the benefit of the doubt on pilot selection. Historically, they’ve done pretty darn well. A bit of turbulence the last couple years though, I agree on that.

I’ve heard they’ve locked things down pretty tight because of getting burned by so many RJ wonders that would come in and leave halfway through training to go to a “legacy”.

Ya gotta sell them on the fact that this is where you want to be and no place else.

interesting. I know this is a thing at ULCC, sun country etcand there was an issue of people "washing" thier resume by going to SW guring the great hiring frenzy a few yrs ago. But with that logic youd think a guy with 10k+ hrs and on type already could already go to said OAL if s/he wanted to without washing the resume with the amount of hiring going on?
maybe they are following the old adage " if you go ugly early, you get the best ugly"...

I'm disgusted with our interview team.... I'll just leave it at that.
