Precisely... I don't know why we're all hung up on pay scale of a smaller plane, but if it's something much smaller like 175... so what? So this plane goes junior then... I'm sure every Delta or United pilot would love to be on a Dreamliner/A350 pay scale, but unfortunately, some are flying "the best jet ever made" (717 according to some Trannies, for all the new guys here), others are flying B737 or A320's and they're all on different scales are they not? I'd much rather have our junior pilots fly the lower paying airplane and have seniority dictate who flies what than outsource the flying and potentially putting their livelihoods at risk.
Why are you even starting discussions about lowering pay rates?
Hell no.
And throwing the “outsourcing” boogeyman out there right away? Sounds like management scare tactics.
We have the strongest scope in the industry….. lets leverage that and stay unified and strong.

Lots of opinions here, most of them probably wildly incorrect (including my own). I think we should leave the running of the airline to the experts.
As for scope, there will almost certainly be more relief. If you haven't listened to the latest swapa number podcast, do it now. It is full of what I would call pretty clear foot stompers. The key for us is to limit scope relief to something that is going to grow the seniority list and not shrink it. Someone else flying our metal is a non starter. Someone else flying our pax needs to have strict limits.

Let me guess. 60s, poorly educated, life-long airline guy, possibly acquired (that would explain everything). Absolutely nobody needs your drink money. It’s quite probable nobody wants your presence at an overnight dinner either.
