I had heard that our ALPA MEC chairman that ushered in our 16 year, pay indexed, no strike contract—fully endorsed by ALPA, had to hire personal security.

What I heard

I believe it.

I remember when a flowback pilot told me (I was a 7-year FO that never upgraded) “it would be better for everyone if you were on the street.”

different times.

500s only had 122 seats. The 800 SL the stupidity of this pilot group was on strong display. The same group as today. Also sold by the same useless Swapullies. The more things change the more they stay the same. Swapull 1.1 today.

do not the FAs still get an override if more than 123 seats?

I think that went away. I’m not sure though and I think it was $5 or something like that.

Thats not going to happen. You may fly it for whatever the standard rates are. No different than a widebody pay rate that is standard in the industry. What I would support is restrictions on how much they are allowed to fly. Whether it’s a ASM’s, block hours, etc. Maybe even a ratio. I just think pandora box opens up. Whether it falls under one part of section 1 of pay or the other of scope, to me they are both the same. If history is a guide, we will be back in federal mediation at some point and if SWAPA passes a document across the table that agrees to let SWA pilots do the flying and the company agrees just on that one provision alone, under mediation, it will be hard it take it off the table.
Some of you need to read this more closely. Even if we are flying the MF, if it is flown at anything less than the rates we have right now, our collective pay will be less than it is with all 737s. They'll have an incentive to operate more airplanes for collectively less money. Almost as bad for us as outsourcing our work to skywest. I'm glad I'm not on the bottom of the list. Some of you appear to be itching to give money back to the company.

one of the unions mission statements is to protect pilot jobs, the other is to create more. No where do they really care about individual money, unless youre on full trip pull and then take the summer off to work 300+ tfp/month over vacation.
so id expect them to push another type at a lower pay real hard. Probably be a few roadshow to tell you how senority movement creates more cpts and possible fewer displacements amd is better for everyone. You know, like, co domicile.
if the SAC paid company chair pushes it hard then you know it's bad for us and if it passes expect to see him at HQ the following month with a sweet VP gig

the ones itching to give back have no understanding of economics. I’d be ok with it if the airframes under 137 seats were capped at 10% of total fleet and WB aircraft were equal or greater than 25% of smaller type. Can’t have one without the other.

We still have it. I forget the exact numbers, but I believe it’s 122 for the 700 and 162 for the 800/MAX8. It ends up being about $100-$150 extra a month for me. I know it’s a small amount, but I support y’all getting the match! Every bit counts, and I can’t thank SWAPA enough for the per diem increases we get because of y’all.

is that booked or actual? I think everyone should get the same per diem. We all eat regardless of position
