What in the world makes you think that management "needs" this done? If that was the case then the NMB wouldn't have to drag them to the table for negotiations. The company is currently enjoying a YUGEEE discount on its pilot labor with people still applying left and right. There is zero reason for the company to do anything other than the NMB "suggests" that they do.

Have you flown with some of our most recent new hires? It’s not a one size fits all description but the quality is way down. Aren’t we hiring about 50/mo? Our growth plan requires 22/mo. They are hiring more than double for training failures and attrition. They are still covring it for now but if this TA doesn’t pass and attrition picks up they will have some issues and they know it is my guess.

What is this that people are saying our family can fly on southwest for free?
I've never heard of that and if you go onto myidtravel it does ZEDFAREs.
Am I missing something or is this just other false rumor.

It's like comparing the NYPD to Townsend Police
Both drive the same cars, and carry the same weapons, arrest for the same laws broken; but the pay is vastly different and the capabilities are as well.
I hope you guys get as close as possible. But tempering expectations with reality needs to be part of the calculation also.

quoted from you on the Regional via air thread:
"New street hire CA’s are currently offered a $70k first year salary. Since most other places are paying $62 - $67 per hour for first year CA pay, and that guarantee is only 75 hours in most cases, the $70k first year salary here is actually competitive..."
I don't know why you're coming on here trying to suppress Spirit pilot's attempts to achieve compensation on par with their peers when you are also seeking the same for yourself. Seems to me you should be encouraging them. I personally would like to see them push back for more, they are worth it!

I've never used ZED so I'm not familiar with the difference but all I know is that I can go on myidtravel and list someone on my flight benefits for standby on SWA. It usually costs around 30-40 bucks so give that a try.
