No worries. We just need to remember who we’re dealing with. Early openers is no guarantee for a new TA in 5 years. A COLA increase after 5 years of 4/5% would probably motivate management more.

Well looking at the history of this industry, I would say chances are just as good for a down negotiating cycle at the end of this CBA compared to another up cycle for the industry as a whole.

History shows us that since deregulation contracts do not continue to increase without a reset. Rate resets happen, mainly because its so easy for a company to file BK and cry poor to a BK judge.

So depending on the environment with the industry and cycle, sitting at $265/hr and dragging our feet might be the better move. And it is a lot easier to sit and wait when at $265/hr with 15% DC, true LTD and rigs vs what we have now.

I just love people who have never offered to serve on a committee or position and have never been involved in any of the negotiations have all the answers.
