Quote: How come the union email today doesn’t give a pairing credit example for a redeye back to base? The types of pairings that would result in 10 hours 3 days and 15 hour 4 days.
95 percent of our trips out there are going to be improved with this new trip rig language. It’s unfortunate that a few will be worse. All in all it’s a win. I think that’s the takeaway.

I just went through the LAS open time, the base that has the most of these 14:XX 4 day schedules.

Lets do an example since you wanted to see one...This pairing is all over open time so its a good example.......

SA 10 334 LAS-PIT 2359 0710 0411
D-END: 0740L (NR 900) REPT: 0515L
MO 12 653 PIT-LAX 0600 0837 0537 0537 0537 0652/0622 LAX 2008
D-END: 0907L (NR 900) REPT: 0515L 562-436-3000
TU 13 562 LAX-LAS 0600 0708 0108 0050 320
TU 13 562 LAS-DEN 0758 1043 0145 0049 320
TU 13 561 DEN-LAS 1132 1231 0159 320 0452 0452 0746/0716
D-END: 1301L T.A.F.B.: 6147 TRIP RIG: 0003
Total: 1440 0000 1443 2004/1834

4 day trip, pays 14:43.

3.5 rig this pays 17hrs 40 mins now. So an extra 3 hours of pay. Commutable on both ends trip, 3 days flying, almost 18 pay.

So should this pay 20 hours in your mind? Im curious what you would want this to pay?

And FYI, DFW has pairings in open time with a LAS-DFW red eye back to base 4 day..it pays 18:14 now, will pay 20:15 with the rigs.

Can you provide a real example?

I doubt 95% will be improved once the pairing optimizer adjusts to the new rigs. I'm sure it will find a way to minimize that soft time. Also, where are you getting your 95% figure? Seems quite high.

Are you talking about the 3 minutes of soft time in his trip?

My line now would be worth 86 instead of 80, but I'm sure the possibility exists that there will be some optimization.

Of course we already use an optimizer now, so what would be so different about the optimizer we have now verses the new one?

I've also looked at many of the open trips in my base and it seems everyone is worth more? Am I missing something? TAFB/3.5?

Just trying to figure it out.

Nothing is different. The optimizer already avoids soft time the best it can. It will change the pairings and do the same when the new rigs are in place. So we can't know that it's going to be an improvement in most pairings until we see it, since it will build different pairings to avoid soft time.

Don’t worry, by the time we actually see the TA Elon Musk will have his underground tube thing running and people will have teleportation powers.

So what is it that we want?

Guys complain that the trips wont be worth much money because of the late shows and early finish, minimize the TAFB rig time...

But then guys complain that PBS will work them too hard to increase productivity, which results in guys making more money with the TAFB rig, duty rig, 5 min duty....

So what is it that everyone wants?

Quote: Like many others have said, this is a NO deal.
Why vote yes on this initial offer, even if it were acceptable?
Because like those that voted "no" at other airlines (delta, southwest), that had decent scope, pay, LTD and profit sharing during their negotiations, we have NONE. ZERO! I'm not sure what makes you think we're in the same situation as them at all.

I know we have the company over a barrel with hiring, right? For 2.5 years they haven't been able to hire a single soul? Oh wait, they have.

On top of that the resumes on file have already increased by 2 fold. If an agreement is even on the horizon many of these folks will come and even our perceived leverage will disappear.

This thing is over IF the MEC votes to send it out.
