I agree with you. Rest assured you’re not the only person that cares.

I’ve loaded up big time. In fact many investors are. The fair market value of SAVE is over 50 clams according to Morningstar.com, a service that has gained me a wealth of economic decision-making knowledge.

I’m in probably too high and have been trying to lower my cost basis a little during the fall but at some point I have to say that’s enough money to throw at it.

Nor are you two alone in your nobility. I also don’t want to see our passengers screwed. I’m also human, and sometimes I just don’t want to do that Long Island turn. My heart ain’t going to break if it cancels and that’s not selfish. Ok maybe a little, but it’s a form of selfishness that has no manifestation on reality. The universe isn’t listening. It’s going to see poser doesn’t want to go then cancel the flight for me. If a flight cancels, it was going cancel whether I wanted out of it or not.

Jeez what are we even talking about?

Why are you buying stock in the company you work for??

Just out of curiosity (and enough laziness to not do my own research) what would a controlling interest in Spirit cost right now?

Is it feasible that Spirit could ever become an "employee-owned" publicly traded company?

Not knowing voting shares and all of that stuff...so to own 51% of the total stock...

68,440,000 shares / 2 = 34,220,000
34,220,000 is worth 1.32B
Show 7700 employees
So $172,000 per employee.

Remind the FA the next time she doesn’t pay for her coffee that she will need $172k for her share to buy in to Spirit. Or the CA who won’t break a buck off for the van driver.

I wouldn’t call you stupid, it’s your money... You are putting a lot of your eggs in one basket though. Again, your money, your choice.

DAL and LUV are probably better picks in this sector though. I previously owned DAL, bought during the Ebola scare low, sold at $55.xx over a year ago. It’s been bouncing around in the mid 50’s to low 60’s, so I’m content with that trade. Better places to make money now than the airline industry, imho.

Would anyone here, FOs in particular, leave here for Jetblue? Why or why not?

No I wouldnt. But if I lived in a JB base, that wasnt a spirit base, then I could see a reason why. But thats about it. With the current contracts not really much different between the two. Its also a longer upgrade at JB last I checked and lots of growth expected at NK. So that would far outweigh any few percent difference in the pay scale.
I also cant stand JB’s “culture”. Clean cabins as part of non rev benefits? Ya no thanks. All the crews Iv met have been fantastic though!

Volatility=opportunity. Easy to make a quick turn profit on SAVE.

Because there will be an offer that you can almost double your money

Employee merger
Wall Street stock swap buy out

$58 per share in a stock swap
Let’s see what the BOD will say

Tranquility 09-15-2019 11:20 AM

FWIW, many here may already indirectly own some of these stocks through mutual funds.
In our 401k: PSCZX has over 115,000 shares of SAVE. IMOZX has over 300,000 shares of DAL.

I own SAVE indirectly through one of my mutual funds in my Roth.

Agreed, the only reason I could see leaving would be if it allowed you to avoid commuting.

Just hope it’s not more MSP overnights. I always thought that place was just as sketchy as BWI.

Just watch the video on this link and you guys will never want to walk around downtown again.

There’s a reason it was called Murderapolis in the 90’s....

And it’s still not even remotely close to Baltimore. No where close. Have you watched “The Wire”? Best show you will ever watch. It’s incredible.

Every big city, in this country, has ghetto areas. I’m born and raised in DSM. I grew up going to both KC and MSP a ton. It’s not that bad and nothing even close to inner city BWI.

Halon1211 09-18-2019 06:29 AM

Is anyone planning on attending this announcement event today. And I believe your supposed to wear black and yellow. I was also told it was appropriate to wear green with animal stickers, not sure what that means though.

Announcement event huh? Seems you’re as FOS as you’ve always been. Carry on everyone

There is a Spirit town hall today for us “family”. So of course people are thinking this is the day for the announcement. Instead we will probably announce another destination like Altoona PA

Fool me once.....

Announcement event? Only thing mentioned would be a leadership town hall.

Did anyone go? I’m wondering what was said.

Silver02ex 09-18-2019 07:49 AM

New seats would be my guess. It’s probably nothing we don’t already know. I hope I’m wrong

Deathwish 09-18-2019 07:57 AM

Probably an opportunity to see and feel the new seats. Maybe with a new destination thrown in.

The new seats are funny. Was just reading on them

The middle seat is now wider than the aisle or window seats, so in order to do that, they shrunk the width of the aisle or window seats.

So now deadheading on us will be even more uncomfortable for our contractual aisle or window seat “when available”.

They didn’t shrink any seats. There was room to spare in the aisle itself since we use 737 seats in the Airbus which is wider then the 737.

Macjet 09-18-2019 08:15 AM

My guess is an announcement that IT got SumTotal 'working'

So the info available that the seats now are currently 17.75” wide, and the new aisle and window will be 17”, this isn’t correct?

Worldflyer89 09-18-2019 09:48 AM

Supposedly the order is pushed back to the end of the year now according to the morning presentation.

So still no word yet on what the town hall was? Sorry to keep brining it up, but just curious about it, I’m on the edge of my seat. I guess it wasn’t that big since there is nothing in the news about it.

Maybe it was just a new destination to somewhere tropical and Ted was playing the steel drums and Bendo on the vocals singing about the coconuts and high fives for going down south.
