I just don’t get why someone would be hoping all these people’s plans get screwed up. I know it’s out of their control just shows what kind of person you are to be excited about something like that.

There is a fairly recent undisclosed order for 15 A321 NEOs though. Also wonder if a stock buyback could cause a freeze on employee stock purchases. Seems like pretty good timing to do so at the current price.

I’ve loaded up big time. In fact many investors are. The fair market value of SAVE is over 50 clams according to Morningstar.com, a service that has gained me a wealth of economic decision-making knowledge.

Is it feasible that Spirit could ever become an "employee-owned" publicly traded company? |

Just out of curiosity (and enough laziness to not do my own research) what would a controlling interest in Spirit cost right now?
Is it feasible that Spirit could ever become an "employee-owned" publicly traded company? 68,440,000 shares / 2 = 34,220,000 34,220,000 is worth 1.32B Show 7700 employees So $172,000 per employee. Remind the FA the next time she doesn’t pay for her coffee that she will need $172k for her share to buy in to Spirit. Or the CA who won’t break a buck off for the van driver. |

Stupid I know. The good money on the sector was with delta.
DAL and LUV are probably better picks in this sector though. I previously owned DAL, bought during the Ebola scare low, sold at $55.xx over a year ago. It’s been bouncing around in the mid 50’s to low 60’s, so I’m content with that trade. Better places to make money now than the airline industry, imho. |
Would anyone here, FOs in particular, leave here for Jetblue? Why or why not?

No I wouldnt. But if I lived in a JB base, that wasnt a spirit base, then I could see a reason why. But thats about it. With the current contracts not really much different between the two. Its also a longer upgrade at JB last I checked and lots of growth expected at NK. So that would far outweigh any few percent difference in the pay scale.

Because there will be an offer that you can almost double your money Employee merger Wall Street stock swap buy out $58 per share in a stock swap Let’s see what the BOD will say |
FWIW, many here may already indirectly own some of these stocks through mutual funds.
In our 401k: PSCZX has over 115,000 shares of SAVE. IMOZX has over 300,000 shares of DAL. I own SAVE indirectly through one of my mutual funds in my Roth. |

Just hope it’s not more MSP overnights. I always thought that place was just as sketchy as BWI.

There’s a reason it was called Murderapolis in the 90’s....
Every big city, in this country, has ghetto areas. I’m born and raised in DSM. I grew up going to both KC and MSP a ton. It’s not that bad and nothing even close to inner city BWI. |
Is anyone planning on attending this announcement event today. And I believe your supposed to wear black and yellow. I was also told it was appropriate to wear green with animal stickers, not sure what that means though.

New seats would be my guess. It’s probably nothing we don’t already know. I hope I’m wrong
|
Probably an opportunity to see and feel the new seats. Maybe with a new destination thrown in.

The middle seat is now wider than the aisle or window seats, so in order to do that, they shrunk the width of the aisle or window seats. So now deadheading on us will be even more uncomfortable for our contractual aisle or window seat “when available”. |

My guess is an announcement that IT got SumTotal 'working'

They didn’t shrink any seats. There was room to spare in the aisle itself since we use 737 seats in the Airbus which is wider then the 737.

Supposedly the order is pushed back to the end of the year now according to the morning presentation.

Maybe it was just a new destination to somewhere tropical and Ted was playing the steel drums and Bendo on the vocals singing about the coconuts and high fives for going down south. |
