Not the final award, but December vacancy bid is showing people still in training being awarded every base but MCO. The majority are still FLL and ACY but nice to see other bases available to them.
This is mainly for the “how long to hold XXX” questions. Getting there and getting a line/upgrade are very different things.

Looks like both MCO and DFW will go to July new hires. So about 4 months to hold them. Or 1.5 months since end of IOE.
Everything else even more junior.

How long to upgrade in DFW?
Thanks

Bases are not very different for seniority, at least from my position. Not a lot of people leaving.
I would guess 50% as an FO, so 25% total would get you a good hard line: between 1-2 years.
Upgrade, count on doubling in size, so 5-6 years.
Could be faster or slower so FWIW.

2012-2018 growth around 15%, 2019 almost no hiring, but still growing (meltdown), 2020 catch-up hiring, and forecast continued growth at 15%.

Would it be safe to say I could be a commuter to a line in DFW FO 2 years, CA 5 years?

75% company wide should give you a good line as an FO, 50% upgrade, 25% good line as a captain.
Commutable line in 2 yes. If you mean upgrade in 5, yes, another year or 2 to hold a decent line as a captain.
Also this is free advice, and you get what you pay for...

Reserve is usually 20%-30% of the domicile. Lately it's gone almost exclusively junior so it's been the bottom 20%-30% holding reserve.
If you come here with the "Need" to upgrade quickly or the expectation of major growth you're setting yourself up for disappointment (even with planes on order, nothing is guaranteed). However, if you're looking to join a great pilot group, flying a great airplane, working for a company with a very forward thinking business model, Spirit is a great choice.

I know things are just ramping up again but we have many already upgraded pilots who have been waiting a while to get back to DFW. Additionally we have senior FOs bypassing to avoid commuting and/or reserve. No growth (new flying) there. Every new city we announce seems to go everywhere but DFW.

Anyone forecasting how soon you'll upgrade, let alone upgrading in a particular domicile, is spit balling at best. Upgrade depends on way too many factors (growth, attrition, pilots bypassing, domicile expansion etc etc).

Actually I’d make more as a FO at Spirit than I’m making as a CA at my regional now.
What can you guys tell me about the contract and work rules? What does an average line look like? How many days off a month, and what is the commuter policy? Mostly 4 day work blocks or something else?
Sorry to bother with these questions. I don’t know anyone who works there, you’re my only resource! If there is a good place to look it up just let me know.

Reserve 6 on 4 off. Can’t drop/move days and you can’t pick up anything extra on reserve. We used to have much better reserve rules but the “this is better then my regional” mentality got those voted out.
