We got butterball turkey coupons at my regional for several years…. Then people discovered we could deposit it as a $15 check into our bank accounts and then we didn’t have to use it to buy a turkey. And instead on more important things like beer.

I spoke with someone in the training department about our high attrition and it doesn't exceed the companies expectations. Spirit plans for X amount of training failures and Y amount of attrition. While Y has been high lately, X has been very low so it all evens out within the expected models.

Has X ever been high? All I’ve ever heard for years is how extremely low training failures are.

This sounds about right. Sounds similar to the story we heard in 2017 when we thought we had leverage because they couldn’t fill classes.

My thoughts-

United has zeroed in on the enemy and will interview every Spirit pilot who passes the Hogan. They will take at least 10% of our pilots this year…

Captains with recurrent this summer, I predict will be doing a V-1 cut from the right seat to keep the airline running. We will sadly bleed pilots from the right seat….

Maybe this is true; however, in the last town hall, they explicitly stated they’re reducing upgrades because of attrition — and that “pilot attrition is starting to become an issue.”

I spoke with somebody at Spirit in the janitorial department.

they said we are going to start holding job fairs in Asia to attract talent. Going to get a big immigration department and our company to help them get visas. Especially head hunting crew members wanting to leaving Cathay Pacific, because of all that crap in Hong Kong.

giving away free K-pop tickets to anybody that comes to interview.

Until first year pay is somewhat competitive with that of the legacies, NK will continue to bleed newbies.
