I still cant believe what amateurs everyone still is... Jetblue is not going to buy Spirit. Their intention is to have a bidding war which has already begun. F9 already made a counter, so then B6 makes their counter, makes themselves look as compelling as possible and it keeps going until F9 pays alot more than their original offer and then B6 backs off and lets it go and F9 pays alot higher price making it not as good as a deal as they intended which will result in more debt in the deal. This is the oldest trick in the book!! hahahah Stay pilots!! stick with your day jobs!!
The plan was always to make F9 pay alot more to get the deal done, Ive seen this movie more than I've seen Top Gun
Hayes and B6 are doing a great job making it so compelling though, Franke doesnt know what to do LOL He's going to end up paying way more than what he wanted, but he'll still get his precious airline back before he hands it over to his son.

I personally feel its Jblu now. Franke saying he won't up his offer is probably more factual than not, and Jblu isnt going away. The delay of the shareholder vote is the Hail Mary by Teddy and the gang to try to either connive F9 to pony up more or to start talks with Jblu so they can say in the end "This was our plan, to have Jblu bring more to the table." And as Bunker said, negotiate a better severance package for themselves.
I think the DOJ approval thing is more bluster than anything, NK using that as the only valid point on why shareholders should vote for the F9 merger. Jblu can just let it go to court for the next 2 years, like the NEA, and wait for the next administration to come in. The fact they are willing to put a 1/3 of a billion dollars up for it shows they aren't too concerned with DOJ

There is no larger paycheck. You’ll get what’s negotiated in the new JCBA, in 2-3 years time. Meanwhile, what happens to the ~230+ airframes NK will have before the merger closes?

And don’t think this takes 2-3 years for a JCBA. Does JBLU zero good having half their fleet flying around as a ULCC, with fenced flying with the pilots
