1997-1999 - 727SO
1999-2007 - 767FO
2007-2008 - 777FO
2008-2015 - 767FO
2015-2016 - 747FO

I fly with many FOs that have been here 6,8,10 years, with all of that time on the 767. I have also seen many take the first 737 or A320 Cap bid they could get. The cool thing about having a large varied fleet is that you have options. That doesn't mean everyone is going to choose the same path though. That benefits us all, case in point, there are still many 787/777 FOs that are senior to me and I am 43% in my base as a 767 Captain. Everybody has whatever choice their seniority can hold, some choose to exercise that for the biggest highest paying position, others choose to stay super senior in their current seat, most some middle ground, but either way more choices for everybody means it is easier for more of us to be happy with where we are. That is the real benefit of the larger airlines. Much easier to get to different seats that work for your QOL needs based on your own personal situation. When your personal situation changes, you still have the wide variety of choices you had before, you just may choose a new one.

And yes, having done both Appendix H and AQP, AQP is much more gentlemanly.

I’ve never seen a newhire probie bash his company as much as you have on this forum. You should have stayed at spirit. Your heart is there and you are not making the transition well.

Over the years I’ve flown with tons of ex something pilots (EAL, TWA, AWA, US, EK, etc) none have had their eyes in the rear view mirror as much as you have. If it was a utopia at spirit you should never have left your position there. I bet by day 3 your captains have had enough.

I mean.. he did give up about a decade of seniority where his QOL was better. Anyone making that transition would also reminisce of their QOL. Doesn’t mean he isn’t grateful to be here. Having read his posts as well, he certainly has mentioned that he’s grateful and how much he’s lucky to be here.

The reality is that MANY Spirit folks would still be at Spirit if it weren’t for their current situation and management. No one faults them, it is what it is and it’s part of the industry

Love United and happy to be here but I will always be a cheerleader for NK. It was a phenomenal place with a great group of people. And yeah, it is a painful transition at mid forties with 4 kids going from Senior CA at $312/hr to bottom 99% At $120/hr. That has everything to do with Seniority. This is by no means “bashing”, it’s called reality. Anyway, you have my phone number be happy to chat about it 👍

former Spirit pilots are like Mexicans that moved to the USA…

…even though we moved to a better place, we very much like to brag about where we came from and are proud of our heritage.

Same boat, brotha. I’m glad I made the move, but it does sting a bit. NK was nothing short of amazing for the pilots. Great group of people. I would be happy to help out anyone I can. Come on over…but the grass isn’t always greener. Many things I miss about Nk, but the crew meals make up for it😂😂.
