Boredwlife, if you're not to busy freezing your butt off up north how was the PDX commute? Alaska stopped the direct to FLL correct?
PDX commute is pretty hardcore on reserve. I would take the 520am USair to PHX and then I had 3 direct to get to FLL, never commutable day of but commutable going back if the trip was done by noon. Not sure what it is now. You could always go through vegas. PDX to ATL then down is the best route, but the 6am PDX to ATL flight was/is ALWAYS oversold with Jumpseaters.

The problem is the two legs with the 3 hour time change. Vegas would be so easy it would be laughable. Commutable on both sides easily.

.... FOUR days off between pairings: four on four off, four on and a two day then four day off... etc... etc...

If you commute it is very nice to have, if you live in base it is probably not as important.

It means any time we have days off they have to be in groups of 4 days off minimum. We usually are scheduled any combination of work trips that equal 5 or 6 days of work, then they schedule 4 daysoff in a row. Except for the first 3 and last 3 days of the month. It is great for commuters, because it allows a decent chance to get home for a few days every week.

I live in base and to me it's very important as I'm lazy and this allows me to create mini vacations all the time. I love this part of the contract!
