Because I considered re-tossing my app at NK simply for a certain base. A lateral move isn't worth it if it is shrinking and/or closing.

Just by subtracting 10 from each side, the last guy displaced would be an early 2001 hire on the CA side, and an early 2012 hire on the FO side. I am sure the actual bid will be quite different.

At NK, by now you should know that bases is not part of the pilots plan.
IOW, don't come here planning to be based in a specific city, we are constantly changing, don't be surprise if in the future FLL shrinks to a DTW size and everything is moved to DFW. We at spirit are never surprised.
Also with this reduction vacancy of 10 there is a vacancy of 18 in DFW. So things are moving forward, but always remember, DTW has been in the chopping block for years, this isn't new, we went thru this base thing back in 08.

Detroit MI is a declining economy, has been a declining economy. Hopefully (because I'm a Blue Oval, NASCAR kind of bubba) the auto industry around Detroit will recover and the DTW airline business will bounce back.
In the mean time, as Sailor says, at NK base stability isn't something one can count on.
We're growing (finally) and with growth goes instability. As someone who interviewed just north of dFw almost 14 years ago, it took me 13 years to get based in the base I was promised (sort of) way back in 1999. In the mean time, I bounced between bases six times. Only once did that bounce have anything to do with my choice.
It's the airline business. If you want stability go to mortician school.

If you're goint to post a story then post the real story.
You didn't write "that a 2001 hire at NK is not a "senior" CA."
You wrote (quote) "Yeah, OK a junior CA at Spirit is a 2001 hire still on reserve."
That led me to believe you were talking about the most junior CA at NK. I asked you are you talking about the most junior pilot at Spirit overall, or the most junior Captain in a certain base?
You didn't answer.
Then I wrote that I had confirmed with a current Spirit pilot that indeed the most junior Captain was hired in late 2007 based at the DFW base.
Then you finally chimed back into the thread (after staying silent on purpose, refusing to comment) that a 2001 CA is still on reserve but isn't the most junior.
True, but it doesn't change the fact the most junior Captain is still 6 years below that in late 2007.
It was a play on words and I misunderstood what you wrote to be most junior. And is it "pathetic"? What is pathetic is certain people that like to blow things out of proportion and take things a little too seriously.

You said people hired 2003-2007 would be a CA and senior. I told you that a 2001 hire at Spirit was junior as a CA. You started fighting. Everyone started making fun of you as you asked for someone who "actually" worked at NK to comment. And it's really funny that you say I refused to comment when I said that, as a reserve CA, I was called out on a trip! So let's not spin it. Your accusations are absurd. The thread is there. The thread is still pathetic and it appears you still refuse to learn from those in a position to help you. Best of luck in your thought that you can jump to NK. I have better things to do and won't comment any longer about this.
Also, on a side note, I do learn from those who are actually in a position to help me. I wouldn't be what I am today if I hadn't.

Letter from DO
Working on some grievances. (JA, red-green days)....."always red in my opinion"
Also that the CO did present the Union possibilities on premium pay (125-150%) on specific times, but they could not agree on a package.
KCM, as I understood the letter, we are gonna get it if MEC let's the mgmt pilots stay on sen list?
Hats, if we get them, we GOT to wear them. (Essentially, careful what we wish for).
New Sims waiting FAA sign off.
Hiring will continue strong, indefinitely.
Just finished meeting with FAA to evaluate our infrastructure to accommodate growth, "FAA says we are good to go". (Lol)
And lastly he said
Stop (wining), others have it worst, start looking at the positive things we have here at The Spirit of NK. (I tend to agree in some respect, we do have a lot of good things here, perhaps more than negative things).
Now waiting on conf call.
