RE: Chicago O’Hare Crew Base



Spirit Airlines is pleased to announce the opening of Chicago O’Hare, as our newest crew base! This new base will increase our operational reliability and flexibility by allowing us to bring low fares to more communities around the country. Once the base is fully operational some of the benefits we expect to realize:



· Increased operational reliability through greater crew reserve coverage

· Reduction in overnight hotels

· Less interrupted trip expense related to crew availability

· Better system recovery by reducing crew delay carryover



All of this translates into better reliability for our customers. Additional details will follow, including information on crew vacancy bids and future crew support resources available in Chicago.

Cool, but will the next memo say closure of DTW?

 

They'll probably get as many voluntaries as they can out of DTW then re-evaluate.

BWI, PHL, ACY, all within driving distance to me . There is a class of 10 behind me, lets hope I can still hold ACY, lol.

 

Where is this BWI base rumor coming from? There are only 5 or so flights from BWI?!

 

ACY/PHL/BWI domicile sounds about right.

This ORD announcement is quite a "revision" from the vacancy bid they put out just yesterday.
