LOL, I was thinking it was the other way around. That guy jumped in with both feet didn't he?

I think it's cool how Hollywood gets to make as many Incredible Hulk movies as they want to...

Can someone explain your jumpseat procedure, as to who gets on?

I tried listing for ORD-LGA and I was told someone else was already listed, so I could not list. If I call in and list first, do I get the jumpseat, until I show up to the gate, and as an OAL, a Spirit guy bumps me off? Or how does it work?

Any pilot can list (reciprocal agreements), once on the list , in most cases you have to go to the ticket counter (passenger service booth in FLL), unless a gate agent feels like paying attention and decides to help you. If you are the first person on that list you get the JS, if you are not the first you get the second js or FA js (most 319s, 321s only), (320's have only one JS), if a NK pilot shows up listed below you he/she can bump you (every airline's rule).
This is all assuming the flight is full, if there are seats in the back, we take all jumpseaters.

You should have listed on the phone or at the ticket counter regardless of who or how many where listed. Always make an effort to see and contact one of the crewmembers with any problems, most of us will help.

I hope it helps.

Please contact your jumpseat coordinator so they get in touch with ours. This should not happen. You still should have been able to list.

That's what I figured, but the guy told me an Air Wisconsin guy was listed, it was oversold by 5 people, and there were 8 standby's.

I didn't even bother to argue, seeing that it would have been impossible to get on at that point.

Did he say specifically say he wouldn't list you? Or did you assume when he told you someone was already listed that you couldn't? Typically they will tell you the loads and if anyone else is listed and then still list you even if someone else is. Our 19's have 2 jumps.

I have listed as Jumpseater number 6 before.

Just like Bored said, you just get yourself listed regardless of js's and or stby's who cares how many , Ask to get listed.

Also contact you js coordinator.

I didn't even bother to ask anymore. He just made it seem like it was full, so I didn't question it. It was my first option out, a 6am to LGA, so I just tried EWR and was able to get on United's A320's with 2 jumpseats
