Yeah, I was typing on a phone as well. The special instance you mentioned hasn't happened yet to me, but I understand that can happen.

What happens in the military was being on reserve (Alpha, Bravo or Charlie Alert, differences being the call out time), and you could be 1 minute before the end of your reserve period, they could call you in to fly a 16, or 18 hour day (if augmented) without batting an eye. And, say your reserve period was three days long, you could be sent out on a trip that lasts over a week. That doesn't happen here.

What's also nice, and I'm sure it doesn't always happen, but I've been given ample time before I've been called off of reserve to go fly, it's not been a surprise call, "rush to the airport" yet.

Fighters don't use reserve so this is all really new to me. I've sat alert, but that was a live in gov't quarters 100 meters from the jets and when the klaxon goes off be in the air in 5/10/15 minutes (depending on alert level).

Does Spirit also have a long call? A friend of mine who is very junior at another airline and only just finished ioe was sitting long call from his home a good 4-5 hour flight away from his domicile. I thought that was a pretty good deal .

No long call here. Long call can be tricky, I know a lot of guys who got burned with it at last airline

Well that is nonsense. And here I though mil flying was just all gun play, prostitutes, and a pension.

What's the current number of pilots at NKS? Last number I have seen was 850 in October.

So based on today's fleet plan you need to get hired within the next year or you could be an FO for a while?

Anyone care to guess if the growth will continue beyond 150ish tails?

We have a bunch coming the next two years but still a lot scheduled 2016 and beyond, so one has 2-3 years max I guess. Of course a lot could change etc. I have 200 behind me already and I'm just shy of 7 months.

Keep in mind that 2 years ago everyone thought its was going to be a 35 airplane operation for a long time. Where is that magic 8 ball again?
