What's the scoop on the company bringing in outside safety consultants to ride on our jumpseats and perform line observations?

TSA will handle that, you and I would not be surprised!!!

The same person that doubts you as a pilot and what you carry in your bag. (ie: why is your kit bag so heavy?, Some people call these things BOOKS, but this time i have my mother in law's head.)

TSA, here for us.

Thank Your St. Thomas landing, wonder-kid visual ratted out, and LGA 8ft wing tip clearance over the threshold on the river visual. And on top of that, the Colgan can of worms!! its not going to end any time soon....prepare to get put through the ringer at all times. (and get paid less than your local 7-11 3rd shift manager)

Be careful retelling any story that you saw in a FOQA presentation. Unless you were there, either in the front or watching from the taxiway, you don't really know how close the wing came to the ground at Laguardia.

FOQA recreations are NOT exactly accurate.

Your right, I'm just trying to point out all the screw-ups may be why the FAA are all over us lately....

Not very smart to publish this kind of info on here.

The FAA is all over everyone! I was going to catch a ride on American out of Dallas the other day, and the FAA ramped and grounded...and they canceled the flight. The reason...there were some scratches near the boarding door they wanted buffed out.

that led me to catching a ride on United...while talking to that crew they told me about a flight they had the other day with a GA fed who quizzed them the whole way, and then told them how he busted another crew because they failed to set the standby altimeter.

The feds have lost there minds over this Colgon crash...and it will probably get worse.

True. That's why the ALPA Safety guys call up the crews to get the "whole picture". I was explained that they correlate and cross-examine the information they retrieve from FOQA with the pilots narratives to validate the information. I was also told that most of the time, the data is pretty accurate. That's also in the FOQA LOA in our CBA.
